FIFTH TASK : COVER MAGAZINE

Our next assignment is just like the Yuna's cover album which is we have to find any magazine that we like and do the cover magazine exactly like the magazine. The difference between cover of the chosen magazine and my cover magazine is only the MAIN IMAGE.

I choose EH! magazine of January 2011 because the magazine's cover is really simple.  They just use three colours ; white, black and red.  It is easy for me because i don't need to find the specific code of colours to make sure the chosen magazine's cover is same with my magazine's cover.  It is also simple but attractive. People look at this cover automatically will attract to buy. (mmg aku selalu attract nak beli magazine sebab cover design + main image)

p/s : Main image is by Sazzy Falak, shared about her life after marriage and what she loves the most. Yes, just like the main cover line, she loves food! So do i..  =)

COVER MAGAZINE

(this cover is for tutorial in class)

Hi!
Our next task is design a front cover for magazine. Without any knowledge of graphic and design, it is very hard to do with our own. Seriously! (wa x tipu lu..) So that, i think it's good for me to share some knowledge that classmate and i learned from our Sir Khairuddin.

Magazine is a periodical that usuall contains a miscellaneous of articles, stories, poems and stories.  There are 7 elements in order to make a cover magazine. Let's check it out!!

1.   MASTHEAD
    > name of the magazine displayed in the typeface in which it is designed.
2.   SELLING LINE
    > short, sharp description of the title's main marketing point.
3.   DATELINE
    > month and year of publication, often with the price.
    > note that monthly magazine usually hits the new stands the month
       before the cover date.
4.   MAIN IMAGE
    > photo or visual that big enough to be major part of the cover layout.
    > main image also define as focal point that grab attention of readers.
    > style shot : full body, half body, individual or a group.
5.   MAIN COVER LINE
    > this is very large-taking up about a quarter of the cover area and
       comes in 3 layers.
    > each with a different color.
6.   COVER LINE
    > distributed around the main image without detracting from it too much.
    > contains selected titles or excerpts from the magazine contents.
    > amount of cover line depend on amount of highlight of each magazine.
7.   BARCODES
    > standard bar code used by retailers.
